WhatsApp Business API Integration in Chennai on Meta Cloud API

If you're looking for WhatsApp Business API integration in Chennai — OTP login, order notifications, a support chatbot, or a full CRM connection — this page covers what that work actually involves, and what it costs. I integrate directly against Meta's own Cloud API using your Meta Business Account, so you pay Meta's raw per-conversation rate with no BSP platform fee or reseller markup sitting in between. I'm an independent developer with 15+ years building PHP and integration systems — direct access to the person writing your code, not an account manager.

The kinds of WhatsApp API projects I work on

Every business uses WhatsApp slightly differently. Here's how that typically breaks down.

eCommerce & Retail

Order confirmations, shipping updates, abandoned cart reminders, and Cash-on-Delivery OTP verification for stores across Anna Nagar and Velachery.

SaaS & Websites

Passwordless WhatsApp OTP login as a cheaper, higher-delivery alternative to SMS OTP, built directly against Meta's Authentication Template category.

Healthcare & Clinics

Appointment confirmations and reminders, prescription-ready notifications, and secure two-way patient communication within Meta's messaging policies.

Education & Coaching

Fee reminders, batch and class notifications, and automated FAQ chatbots that handle admissions questions before a counsellor gets involved.

B2B & Wholesale

Quote requests, order status updates, and CRM-linked conversation history for manufacturing and distribution businesses around Ambattur and Avadi.

Real Estate & Services

Lead capture through click-to-chat ads, automated qualification flows, and booking confirmations sent straight from your CRM.

Troubleshooting

Why WhatsApp API integrations actually break

Most of my work is stepping into an integration another developer, agency, or BSP left half-configured. These are the four causes I see most often.

1. Templates get rejected for the wrong category

The most common issue is submitting an Authentication or Utility template with promotional wording, or missing the required variable-placeholder formatting. Meta rejects it outright, or worse, approves it and then restricts your account later for miscategorised sending. I write templates to match Meta's category rules precisely before submission.

2. Webhook verification silently fails

Meta requires your server to correctly echo back a challenge value during webhook setup, and to keep responding within its timeout window on every subsequent event. A slow database call inside the webhook handler, or a missing signature check, causes delivery and status events to stop arriving without an obvious error anywhere in your app.

3. Messaging tier limits get hit without warning

New WhatsApp Business Accounts start on a capped daily messaging tier. Businesses that scale a campaign or notification volume quickly, without pacing sends or completing Meta Business verification, hit that ceiling and messages start silently failing. I structure sending through a queue with rate limiting built in, so growth doesn't outrun your tier.

4. The 24-hour customer service window gets misunderstood

You can only send free-form messages within 24 hours of a customer's last message; outside that window, only an approved template goes through. Integrations that don't track this window correctly end up dropping messages, or paying for template sends they didn't need to. I track window state server-side so the right message type goes out automatically.

What I build on Meta Cloud API

Most projects fall into one of these categories.

OTP & Passwordless Login

WhatsApp Authentication Templates for signup and login verification — hashed, expiring, attempt-limited, with an SMS fallback where WhatsApp delivery fails.

Order & Transaction Notifications

Utility Template messages for order confirmations, shipping updates, and payment receipts, triggered automatically from your store or ERP.

Chatbot & Automated Support

Interactive list and button flows, FAQ automation, and human-agent handoff logic built on Meta's webhook and Interactive Message APIs.

Marketing Broadcast Campaigns

Approved Marketing Templates for announcements and offers, sent to opted-in contact lists with delivery and read-rate reporting.

CRM & ERP Integration

Two-way sync between Meta Cloud API and your CRM or ERP, so conversations, order status, and customer records stay in one place.

Catalog & In-Chat Commerce

Meta's Commerce/Catalog integration so customers can browse products and place orders directly inside a WhatsApp conversation.

Background

A quick summary of how I work

You're hiring one developer, not a layer of account managers.

15+ years in production

I've spent fifteen-plus years working inside real PHP and integration systems. Most webhook and template issues that stall a support ticket for days, I can usually spot in minutes because I've seen the pattern before.

No hidden subcontracting

Agencies often sell you a senior consultant and hand the actual coding to a junior. I write every line of your project myself.

₹350/hour, AI-assisted

I use AI tooling for routine boilerplate, testing, and documentation. That keeps billed hours — and your cost — down without cutting corners on the actual engineering.

Direct WhatsApp access

No ticketing system, no waiting on email during an outage. You message me directly and get a developer, not a support queue.

Comparison

Direct Meta Cloud API vs. a BSP reseller

A straightforward comparison, for what it's worth coming from me.

Factor Typical BSP / Agency Working With Me
Who you talk to Account manager, not the developer The developer, directly
Monthly platform fee Usually charged on top of Meta's own rate None — you pay Meta's raw rate directly
Data ownership Conversations sit inside a third-party dashboard Stored in your own database, under your control
Customisation Limited to what the dashboard exposes Whatever Meta Cloud API supports, built to spec
Support 9-to-5 ticket queue Direct WhatsApp, including for urgent issues
Pricing

Sample project costs

AI-assisted tooling cuts down the hours I need to bill for routine work, and that saving passes to you. Meta's own per-conversation messaging cost is separate and billed directly by Meta.

Task Typical Agency Time My Time Cost
Webhook / template bug fix 2 – 4 hours 1 hour ₹350 flat
OTP login integration 8 – 12 hours 3 – 4 hours ₹1,050 – ₹1,400
Order/shipping notification system 10 – 16 hours 4 – 6 hours ₹1,400 – ₹2,100
Full chatbot + CRM integration 30 – 45 hours 10 – 15 hours ₹3,500 – ₹5,250
Note: These are typical ranges, not quotes. You'll get an exact estimate after a free review of your Meta Business Account status, existing systems, and template needs.
Getting Started

How the process works

No bureaucracy — just these six steps, in order.

01

Message on WhatsApp

Send details about your use case. You'll get a real technical response, not a sales pitch.

02

Free review

I check your Meta Business Account status, existing systems, and messaging needs before quoting anything.

03

Fixed estimate

You get a fixed price or a clear hourly estimate before I touch any code.

04

Build & submit templates

Integration code is written, and any required message templates are submitted to Meta for approval in parallel.

05

Test it properly

Webhook delivery, template rendering, and failure fallbacks — checked under realistic conditions before anything ships.

06

Deploy safely

Goes live with monitoring on webhook delivery and message failure rates, with a rollback plan ready.

Under the Hood

How a Meta Cloud API integration actually works

The pieces that make the difference between a stable integration and one that quietly breaks.

Permanent access tokens. I generate long-lived tokens through a System User in Meta Business Settings, so your server's API calls stay authorised without needing to refresh short-lived tokens every 24 hours.

Webhook verification & signature checks. Every incoming webhook is verified against Meta's signature before your app trusts it, and the handshake challenge is echoed back correctly during setup so delivery and status events keep arriving.

Template categories. Marketing, Utility, and Authentication templates each follow different approval rules and pricing. I match the message content to the correct category upfront to avoid rejections or account restrictions later.

The 24-hour session window. Free-form replies are only allowed within 24 hours of the customer's last message. I track this state server-side so your system automatically falls back to an approved template outside that window.

Messaging tiers & quality rating. Your account's daily messaging limit grows as message quality and volume stay healthy. I structure sends through a queue with rate limiting, so growth doesn't outrun your current tier.

Use Cases

What businesses actually use this for

A quick reference of the most common requests I get.

Marketing broadcasts

Announcements, offers, and product launches sent to opted-in contacts through approved Marketing Templates.

Transaction confirmations

Booking, payment, and order confirmations sent the moment the event happens in your system — no manual step involved.

Reminders

Appointment, EMI, and renewal reminders scheduled and sent automatically ahead of the due date.

Support automation

FAQ chatbots that resolve common questions instantly, with a clean handoff to a human agent when needed.

Lead capture

Click-to-chat ad campaigns that route straight into an automated qualification flow and then your CRM.

In-chat commerce

Product browsing and ordering inside WhatsApp itself, connected back to your existing store or order system.

Local to Chennai

A WhatsApp API developer in your timezone — and your city

Being based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu means we work in the same hours. When a webhook stops firing during your morning order rush, you get a reply in minutes — not a response from an outsourced queue the next day.

I work with businesses across Anna Nagar, Velachery, Adyar, Guindy, Ambattur, Porur, and OMR, and I'm familiar with the Indian payment gateways and delivery services most Chennai businesses actually connect to their WhatsApp notifications.

I'm also available across Tambaram, Avadi, Chromepet, Perambur, KK Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Sholinganallur, and Medavakkam — and remotely for businesses in the Middle East, Europe, and the US, entirely over WhatsApp and email.

Common Questions

WhatsApp Business API integration in Chennai — FAQ

Straight answers on cost, BSPs, templates, and security.

How much does WhatsApp Business API integration cost in Chennai?
I charge a flat ₹350/hour, billed on AI-assisted hours, with a clear breakdown before work begins. For well-defined scopes, like OTP login or order notifications, I can also quote a fixed price so there's no surprise later. This is separate from Meta's own per-conversation messaging cost, which is billed directly by Meta, not marked up by me.
What is the difference between Meta Cloud API and a BSP (Business Solution Provider)?
A BSP resells access to the WhatsApp Business Platform, usually adding a monthly platform fee and a markup on top of Meta's own messaging cost. Meta Cloud API is Meta's own hosted API — I integrate directly against it using your Meta Business Account, so you pay Meta's raw messaging rate with no reseller layer in between.
Do I need a separate provider like Twilio, Gupshup, or a BSP to use WhatsApp API?
No. You can integrate directly with Meta's Cloud API using your own Meta Business Account and a verified phone number, without paying a third-party platform fee on top of Meta's own messaging cost.
Can you build WhatsApp OTP login for my website or app?
Yes. I build OTP generation, hashing, expiry, attempt limits, and delivery through WhatsApp's Authentication Template category, with an SMS fallback for numbers where WhatsApp delivery fails.
Can you send automated order, shipping, and payment notifications on WhatsApp?
Yes. I connect your store or ERP to Meta Cloud API using Utility Templates, so order confirmations, shipping updates, and payment receipts go out automatically the moment the underlying event happens in your system.
Do you build WhatsApp chatbots for customer support?
Yes. I build interactive list and button-based flows, FAQ automation, and handoff logic to route a conversation to a human agent when the bot can't resolve it, all through Meta's Cloud API webhook events.
Is the initial minor bug review and fix truly free of charge?
Yes. Your first minor issue — a failing webhook, a rejected template, a broken notification — is reviewed and fixed free of charge. It's the easiest way for you to judge the quality of my work before paying anything.
What is a WhatsApp message template and why does it need approval?
A template is a pre-approved message format for Marketing, Utility, or Authentication messages. Meta requires templates to be submitted and approved before use in production, since you can't send free-form messages outside the 24-hour customer service window.
How long does WhatsApp template approval take?
In my projects, straightforward templates are usually approved within a few hours to one business day. Approval times can extend to several days if the wording doesn't clearly match Meta's template category guidelines.
Can WhatsApp API be connected to my CRM or ERP system?
Yes. I write server-side integrations that push and pull data between your CRM or ERP and Meta Cloud API, so conversations, order status, and customer records stay in sync without manual copy-pasting.
Can you set up a WhatsApp product catalog for orders inside chat?
Yes. I configure Meta's Commerce/Catalog integration so customers can browse products and place orders directly inside a WhatsApp conversation, connected back to your existing store or order system.
How do you handle WhatsApp API rate limits and messaging tiers?
New WhatsApp Business Accounts start on a limited messaging tier that increases automatically as you maintain message quality. I structure sending logic and queuing so you don't hit tier limits unexpectedly, and advise on the Meta Business verification steps that raise your limits faster.
Is my customer data secure with a direct Meta Cloud API integration?
Yes. I use permanent System User access tokens stored server-side, never in frontend code, verify every incoming webhook request against Meta's signature, and keep customer conversation data inside your own database rather than a third-party dashboard.
Can you migrate my WhatsApp integration off a third-party BSP onto direct Meta Cloud API?
Yes, and it's a common request I get. Since the underlying WhatsApp Business Account can often be reused, migration mainly involves generating a new permanent token, re-pointing the webhook, and re-approving your templates under direct API access.
Do you use version control like GitHub?
Yes. I keep a clean history of every integration, webhook handler, and template change I make, so you have visibility into exactly what was modified and when.
